Pastor Ken Reporting – February 8, 2018

Our first campus-wide week of prayer has been fantastic. Many thanks to Kris Fuentes, Marty Sutton, Edita Fuentes, and the many other who helped plan and make this week possible. I hope you have been able to attend. If not, it is not to late. Read below for details.
ONE BIG THING
(If you don’t read anything else, read this)
We need volunteers to deliver Bible studies to families in our area who have filled out Bible study interest cards. It isn’t complicated. You simply go with another person and hand the Bible study to the family and begin developing a relationship with them. If you feel like a little training would be helpful we have that covered. John Bradshaw from It Is Written will be doing a wonderful Friday evening and Sabbath training program on February 23 & 24 at Hillcrest Seventh-day Adventist Church. If you are interested in delivering the Bible studies, would like to attend the training, or want more information please email me.

LET’S READ THE BIBLE TOGETHER IN 2018
The pastoral staff and elders would like to invite the entire church to read through the entire Bible together in 2018. If you have never read through the entire Bible this is a great opportunity to discover how easy it is to do and the huge blessings that come from reading the Bible consistently. We are using a Bible reading plan called, “Let’s Read the Bible Together.” The easiest way is to go to our new church app and chose the plan in the Bible reading plan section. Another option is to download from the app store the Youversion Bible app and then search for the “Let’s Read the Bible Together” reading plan, or you can just click on this link. If you would prefer a hard copy of the reading plan look for the bright yellow piece of paper at the kiosks in the church lobbies.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  John 10:10 (NASB)
This verse has been our theme for week of prayer. It is most appropriate since our theme this year is “Simplify.” It doesn’t get any more simple than this. Satan claimed God wasn’t allowing His subjects to live life to the fullest. Humanity choose to believe Him. That belief stole our happiness, peace, and ultimately our life. Jesus came and restored our ability not just live, but life a meaningful and joy-filled life. There is a temptation to pick and choose which of God’s commands found in the Bible we want to follow. When we do that, we are going back to the thief. What appears to give a better life ultimately destroys life. I encourage you today to accept God’s clear Word and choose abundant life!
Remember to live our mission. Love God. Love people. Serve the world.

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ken
