Pastor Ken Reporting – April 19, 2018

I am really enjoying the Season of Service devotional. I hope you are as well. If you don’t have a copy you can download it from our website by clicking here.
This weekend the pastoral staff will be at Indian Creek Camp for a pastors and elders’ retreat that we are required to attend by the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference. Our guest speaker at church this Sabbath will be Melanie Bockmann. Melanie has been attending our church for the last 8 months and she and her husband recently had their membership transferred from Washington to our church. She is a doctoral student at Vanderbilt University. I know you are going to receive a blessing for her sermon on how Jesus ministered to the sick.
TWO BIG THINGS
(If you don’t read anything else, read this)
#1. After second service this Sabbath we will be having a church picnic/potluck at Saunders Ferry Park, Shelter #8. Bring food to share.  You also may want to bring chairs or a kite if you have one.
#2. The MA Public Relations 101 class is planning  and hosting the Neely’s Bend 5k at Peeler Park this Sunday, April 22, at 1:30 p.m.  Sign up at neelysbend5k.com or just come out and cheer the runners on!

READ THROUGH THE BIBLE
We are a quarter of the way through our goal of reading through the Bible as a church family. Even if you haven’t done the readings it would be great to have you start now and do the readings with us. I think there is a real blessing in reading the Bible together. Hard copies of the Bible reading plans can be found at the kiosks in our lobbies. Here is a link to the online Bible reading plan for April. Let’s Read the Bible Together – April.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH
We are so excited to bring you Children’s Church on April 28!

Time:  2nd Service immediately Following Sabbath School
Registration is Located Outside of the Children’s Chapel.
CHILDREN’S CHAPEL MUSIC
Our Children’s Chapel Music Program needs Kid Musicians, Singers, and Adult group leaders.  This is an amazing program that is very important to our Children’s Ministry Program and one that we want to keep.  If you and your child are interested in being added to our rotation, please call or text Kimberly King at 615-483-2567.
HOUSING FOR BIBLE WORKERS
We will have three Bible workers, two male and one female, join us this summer to assist with our evangelistic effort. They will be with us from June 15 through July 31. We need to find “bed and breakfast” accommodations for the Bible workers. Host families receive $300 per month per Bible worker hosted. If you are interested, please contact me by replying to this email or clicking on this link.

CHILD CARE NEEDED
Celebrate Recovery needs additional folks who could help provide child care on Monday evenings.  We have folks attending who need to bring their children with them, and the child care you can provide would go a long way toward their road to recovery.  Even if you can only help in this area one week a month, you would be making a huge impact in the lives of the children as well as the CR attendee. Please contact Dan Davis, 615-202-4839 for more details.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.
Matthew 9:35 (NLT)

When you read that verse are you amazed? Jesus is the Good News. The Good News that the Great Healer has the solution to our disease and illness. By His stripes, we are healed. Prayerfully thing about how wonderful Jesus is as you watch the video below.
Remember to live our mission. Love God. Love people. Serve the world.

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ken
