Pastor Ken Reporting – July 19, 2018

We had a great turnout for our church social at Wave Country last night. Thanks so much to our great social committee for planning the event. We had a terrific time as you can see if you watch the video I posted on the Madison Campus FaceBook page or take a look at the picture of the week further down in this newsletter.
(If you don’t read anything else, read this.)
This Saturday evening we begin our special series, “We All Have Hope,” by Roger Hernandez. If you haven’t registered online, you have until tomorrow (Friday) to do so. If you don’t register ahead of time, you can still attend, you just will likely have to wait in a long line to register here at the church. I would highly encourage you to save yourself some time as well as making the line shorter for our guests.
Our series is every evening from July 21 through July 27, and the final meeting is during our church service on July 28. On Sabbath, July 28, there will be no first service and Sabbath School will start at 10 am with our church service beginning at 11 pm. We will have an all church potluck following the church service.
Roger Hernandez’s message and share cards are available in the sanctuary foyer to invite your friends and neighbors. Here is the link to register that is active through

Every week, we have gracious groups of church members that provide a lunch for visitors in the fellowship hall. Generally, we have between 10-20 visitors, so we ask these groups to be prepared for that number of people. If you are a church member, we kindly request that you not attend these meals unless you are a part of the team providing the meal, so that there is enough food for our visitors. If you would like to join a host group that provides lunch for visitors, please contact Rose Mays at Our next all church potlucks are on July 28and  August 11. For the all church potlucks, please bring enough food to feed your family and another family.
Parking & Security needs volunteers for the evangelistic series.  Please contact Bill Ross at 314-374-1367
Are you ready for Jesus to come?  Are your friends and neighbors?  MCC is providing truth to 1,830 of our Hendersonville friends/neighbors with this, our 8th order for zip 37075.   (11,704 books total, so far, or 42%) AND yes, each mailed copy of The Great Controversy is still $1.10.  And yes, each book still has an Amazing Facts Bible study card enclosed. Please pray the Holy Spirit will accompany each of these 1,830 books.
To those who have been blessed by the CARE Ministry and would like to give back by joining the card ministry, please contact or text Glendyle Levinskas at 865-306-7455  “Loving people through written words of encouragement”

Our Children’s Chapel Music Program needs Kid Musicians, Singers, and Adult group leaders.  This is an amazing program that is very important to our Children’s Ministry Program and one that we want to keep.  If you and your child are interested in being added to our rotation, please call or text Kimberly King at 615-483-2567.
Nedley Depression and Anxiety Program is being offered again in our church. Introduction and information is tonight, July 19 at 6 pm in Schlisner Hall.  The 8 week program begins on August 2 at 6 pm.  Previous graduates can come again at a reduced cost.  Call Pastor Julie if you have questions at 615-969-1287.
Celebrate Recovery needs additional folks who could help provide child care on Monday evenings.  We have folks attending who need to bring their children with them, and the child care you can provide would go a long way toward their road to recovery.  Even if you can only help in this area one week a month, you would be making a huge impact in the lives of the children as well as the CR attendee. Please contact Dan Davis, 615-202-4839 for more details.
If you’re a young adult, please remember to follow us on FB at Compass (Madison Young Adults).
The 403 Center needs volunteers for any day Monday thru Thursday from 10 am to 12:30 pm or anyone that can work sporadically if you call ahead. Orientation is every Tuesday at 9:15 am.  Call Karen Baker for information at 615-516-8631.
Join us in reading through the Bible together as a family. Even if you haven’t done the readings so far, it would be great to have you start now. I think there is a real blessing in reading the Bible together. Hard copies of the Bible reading plans can be found at the kiosks in our lobbies. Here is a link to the online Bible reading plan for July. Let’s Read the Bible Together – July.

It was a beautiful evening for our church social at Wave Country.
As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!
Psalms 119:7 (NLT)
Think about someone you love. Seriously. Stop reading and close your eyes and imagine their face for 30 seconds.
Now, what if that person had a fatal disease and you had the antidote. Obviously, you would give them the antidote. How frustrated would you be if they didn’t use it? Would it make it better if they thanked you for your gracious gift but didn’t use it? For me, that would almost make it worse. You know I love you, you thank me for the antidote, and yet you are choosing to die.
God’s “righteous regulations” are an antidote. The thanks God wants for providing us with a better life and everlasting life is simply to accept and take the antidote. Have you been thanking God lately for His “righteous regulations?”

Remember to live our mission. Love God. Love people. Serve the world.

God’s blessings,

Pastor Ken
