Pastor Ken Reports – February 22, 2019

The internet has brought on revolution of our everyday lives. Life is vastly different then it was even 10 years ago. Think about all the things we use the internet to do. While there are many incredibly negative aspects to the internet there are also some amazing positives. We are blessed to live in a time when Christians have incredible resources just a click away. Resources are a wonderful thing in your walk with Jesus. Websites like, and make resources that pastors used to have to go through years of education free and accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
While Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Videos, etc. have lots of content, it is important for us to discern what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable and put our time and energy into those things. If you read, “One Big Thing,” this week you will see our church is opening up a Christian video resource to you. You will have access to thousands of videos like the one above. It is our hope that you will be able to use it in your journey with Jesus.
I’m excited to share that our church now has access to an extensive, new video library called RightNow Media! It’s like the “Netflix of Video Bible Studies” and has a HUGE library of faith-based videos that you can access whenever and wherever you want—on your phone, iPad, computer, or at home on your TV and it is free for you to use.
As a church staff, we’re always looking for ways to help you develop and strengthen your faith. For the last several months our church board has tried out RightNow Media and recently voted to make it a resource for the entire church. We are also blessed by a generous donor who has provided the funds for our Madison Campus family to use it. We believe that RightNow Media will be a tool to serve you as you live out your faith at home, at work and in your neighborhood. RightNow Media has videos for everyone—kids, youth, parents, married couples, college students, single adults, working professionals—all aimed at helping you grow. We are very excited that in addition to the current content we are able to upload further video resources from our church and Denomination that you will be able to use.
This coming Sabbath afternoon (Feb. 23) at around 3 pm you will receive an official invitation email to give you FREE access to RightNow Media. If you don’t see it by that evening check your mail filter (because it came from RightNow’s system, it may have gotten caught there).
Once you find the email, simply click the link, sign up for an account, and you’re all set to explore more than 20,000 videos. If you have friends and neighbors you think would be blessed by this resource you are encouraged to forward them the link you receive. We pray that RightNow Media will be a blessing for you and your family!
A number of schools around Nashville, including our own Madison Campus Elementary and Madison Academy, were closed today due to the National Weather Service warnings regarding heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
We are still planning on having church tomorrow as scheduled.
We highly encourage you to use your best judgment in making the decision on whether to attend. Please do not do take any unnecessary risks.
If you ever have questions regarding inclement weather and our church being open the best places to look for information are our website and our Facebook page. We will also send out email and text blasts to all those who have subscribed. To sign up for Our Mobile Alerts CLICK HERE and sign up for the different alerts you would like to receive.

MEDIA ON THE BRAIN: Madison Campus is proud to host, Media on the Brain, March 16, 23, & 30. We will begin with a light supper at 5:30 pm followed by the presentation at 6:15 pm. Presented by author, speaker, and teacher, Scott Ritsema, Media on the Brain is much more than a seminar, it is a tool for how to handle the vast number of media choices we have to make every day. I would highly encourage you to attend and to invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to this event. Those who attend will gain inspiration from families who have found freedom from media addiction and behold something better in the character of Christ.
MEN OF MCC: The Forge is where men of all ages and stages come together to help one another “find strength in God,” (1 Samuel 23:16) and sharpen one another “as iron sharpens iron,” (Proverbs 27:17) so that “[when] one falls, the other can reach out and help” so that we are not easily broken (Ecclesiastes 4:10, 12). Based on your feedback, our study will focus on two tracks – personal, spiritual growth and God’s design/purpose for men. Pending the number of sign-ups, we’re looking at a March 9th kickoff (likely on Sabbaths immediately following second service) and challenge you to join us in discovering the knee-buckling wonder of seeking God with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13) and living out His good and perfect will (Romans 12:2).
PRAYER MINISTRY: Be a part of our weekly prayer meeting, Wednesday from 6 to 7 pm. “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I AM there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18: 19-20) “The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of God’s people are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” (The Power of Corporate Prayer by Karen Martell)
