Pastor Ken Reports – September 27, 2019

As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.
Matthew 26:26-28 (NLT)
This Sabbath we look forward to two special things. Our youth will be leading the church service and it is communion Sabbath. Last year we had the youth lead a communion service and they did such a wonderful job we decided we wanted it to become a yearly tradition. Our speakers this Sabbath will be Judah Webb, Martin Scarff, and Lily Gustafson.
ONE BIG THING
It’s time for another great year of Pathfinders and Adventurers to begin! The first club meeting is this Sabbath, September 28th at 2:30 in the sanctuary. We hope you are able to join us! Registration is available on planning center online registration. It is going to be a great year!
OUR FATHER’S HOUSE
Last Sabbath we had a great skit that I think made a really good point about our renovation. Click on the video below to watch the skit and if you haven’t already, think about what you can do to help support the renovation of our Father’s house. You can find pledge cards on the kiosks at church or you can click on the button below to donate online.

TOGETHER IN ONE ACCORD: “PENTECOST didn’t begin with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit; Pentecost began with a prayer meeting…” The church in Acts 2 is the answer to Jesus’ prayer in John 17! There was nothing on His heart of greater concern than the unity of those He was leaving behind, and when the church came together for a prayer meeting, united, in one accord, He could trust them with an unction so powerful that it would shake their world and change the population of eternity. Before sunset the membership of the Jerusalem church moves from 120 to 3,120… Together together, Lord, please, as it was in the beginning…” (Okay, All Together Now, 5,6). Let us pray together Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in Room 109. See you then!

Tithe & Offering
Tithe is the 10% of our increase that we give to God to support His work in this world. These monies are used to pay pastors, evangelists, chaplains, Bible workers, and missionaries. It also pays for the salaries of those who provide support for those people and for expenses that help support evangelism. We are behind where we were last year at this time in our tithe giving. Through the end of July, Madison Campus has returned $946,747.96 compared to last year’s $1,052,274.10.
Monies donated to church budget are to be given in addition to tithe. Our church budget funds ministry in our community such as Madison Campus Elementary, Madison Academy, Pathfinders, Adventurers, our annual Block Party, our music ministries, Adventist Community Services (the 403 Center), Bags of Love, Celebrate Recovery, and Adventist literature that can be distributed. It also pays for the upkeep and utilities for our church facility and our church administrator. Thank you for your generosity that has put our budget ahead of where we were at this time last year and helps us do ministry and keep our church open.
Church Budget Received 9/21: $ 4,622
Month to Date: $17,593
Needed Monthly: $53,200
