Pastor Ken Reports – October 18, 2019

Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.
Revelation 12:7-9 (NLT)
Perhaps you have noticed there is a lot of “controversy” in life. Whether it is national politics, family relationships, at our jobs. Sadly, even at church there is a lot of controversy. So why is there so much conflict? Why can’t we all just get along?
As Seventh-day Adventists, we know the answer lies in a “Great Controversy” that supersedes all others. It is a conflict that began in heaven. When we understand this Great Controversy it helps us understand all the rest of the conflict we experience in the world around us. It does not give us all the answers, but it gives us the foundation to to trust that someday God will reveal the answers and even more importantly, end the controversy conclusively, restoring this earth to a place of joy, peace, and happiness where pain, death, and hate can never again be found.
This Sabbath we will study the fundamental belief of the Great Controversy. Through this lens we will also touch on five other fundamental beliefs listed below (you can click on the link to be taken to the official Adventist website that explains the fundamental beliefs).
After second service this Sabbath, October 19, we will be having an all church potluck. Join your Madison Campus family for a great time of food and fellowship. Please bring enough food to feed your family and to help feed guests.

Tithe & Offering
Tithe is the 10% of our increase that we give to God to support His work in this world. These monies are used to pay pastors, evangelists, chaplains, Bible workers, and missionaries. It also pays for the salaries of those who provide support for those people and for expenses that help support evangelism. We are behind where we were last year at this time in our tithe giving. Through the end of July, Madison Campus has returned $946,747.96 compared to last year’s $1,052,274.10.
Monies donated to church budget are to be given in addition to tithe. Our church budget funds ministry in our community such as Madison Campus Elementary, Madison Academy, Pathfinders, Adventurers, our annual Block Party, our music ministries, Adventist Community Services (the 403 Center), Bags of Love, Celebrate Recovery, and Adventist literature that can be distributed. It also pays for the upkeep and utilities for our church facility and our church administrator. Thank you for your generosity that has put our budget ahead of where we were at this time last year and helps us do ministry and keep our church open.
Church Budget Received 10/12: $ 5,191
Month to Date: $9,366
Needed Monthly: $53,200
