REST & REJOICE
We rest because God gives his beloved rest. He gave rest to humanity in Eden long before there was a worry or hurry. When Egypt enslaved his people, he reminded them he was no enslaver. Instead, he gave rest. When his people struggled under the weight of exacting religion, Jesus invited them to come and find rest in him.
We rejoice because we bask in the generosity of God. He has given us a good world. He has welcomed us into his presence. He renews our strength. He cares for us in every circumstance of life. Under his watchful care, we find joy and are filled with rejoicing.
